Hey guys, welcome to another episode of the Mentally Chill podcast. I'm your host, Kristen Carney,

0:04.8

and I don't know why my voice just went up like that. It was weird. Welcome to the show.

0:10.4

I was intimidated taping this week's episode because I have Fred Stoller on, who was a comedian in the 80s

0:17.6

and 90s, and he used to write for Seinfeld he was on Seinfeld he was recurring

0:22.6

on everybody loves Raymond he was that guy in dumb and dumber with the trench coat on who was

0:29.5

annoyed and he says to the bad guy in the phone booth get off the phone I don't know if you guys

0:36.7

remember that the way I do but but I was very, very,

0:39.5

very excited slash intimidated getting to talk to him. So at the beginning, we talk a lot about

0:45.0

stand-up and the scene of show business, but then we really, really, really do get into

0:51.4

the meat and potatoes of his depression or lack of meat and potatoes because

0:56.0

he doesn't have much of an appetite nor do I lately. And we also talk about how he quote throws out

1:02.6

his brain just like you throw out your elbow. He says he threw out his brain with anxiety.

1:08.3

But then he also has an epiphany on the show, and it was a great one for me

1:13.0

1:20.7

very apropos because I decided right before I taped this episode that I was moving or am moving from Los Angeles to New York

1:29.5

City. And it's been something I've been denying myself of for years and years and years.

1:35.1

And I've been trying to be a square peg in a round hole kind of thing. And so what he says

1:42.0

hit me pretty hard and has stuck with me and I'm so glad that he said it

1:45.4

so I hope you like the episode of course thanks to Tracy my new Patreon child thank you for joining

1:51.6

and I hope to see you at the movie night this Saturday July 21st I had to change it from

1:56.1

630 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pacific time so 7 p.m. Pacific time and you know what Im. Pacific time. And you know what? I, the last time was saying I was

2:04.1

nervous to show a movie that I really like because I don't want people to dislike it. But I'm trying to
