Make sure that you're glassing into the shade.

So after about the first hour of light, you want to put all of your attention for the whole rest of the day into the shady pocket.

So you're going to be wanting to glass into the north facing slopes, the east facing slopes, the northeast facing slopes.

You're going to want to find that those pockets, those bowls, those hillsides that are thicker in vegetation, with mesquite, with oak, and just a lot brushier.
