Hey everyone, it's Sam Whiteau. Back again for what may be the last time, at least for a while.

It's sad to have to say goodbye again, but sometimes unexpected things happen. And you must adjust.

For those of you who haven't heard about my recent life situation, you can listen to the

beginning of my letter on the Amikuk for more details. But, to give a quick recap, my friend William

is in a bad way, and he's not going to be with us for much longer. He has a daughter named Rain,

and her mother passed away earlier as well, meaning that without William, she won't have either

of her parents. So my girlfriend, Serena, and I have decided to adopt Rain, and we've been in

Australia for the last long while, spending time with both William and Rain, getting things all

set up. It's been very busy, and now that we're taking in a little girl, I'm going to put my focus

on being a good, adopted parent. I'm also probably going to retire here soon. Or at least

transition to a less active combat role, because things are just very different when you have a

kid around. Plus the fact that I'm getting told to that anyways. Again, the beginning of my Amikuk

letter gives a little more info on this whole situation, but that's the basic lowdown on things,

and hopefully it helps you understand why I must go away again. Not to mention that it is not

as if writing these letters is a job that's making me money. So it takes a lot of time and effort,

and I also want to put that towards my remaining career as a hunter, and being there for Serena,

Rain, and all of our different animal friends. A lot of people want my nephew or mom to write

letters of their own, but I doubt they will. For that matter, I don't expect any other capital
