0:21.3	time for a five-minute Friday. And it's Mother's Day this weekend. This whole week, we're
0:26.5	celebrating mothers. I'm here in the office with amazing mother Carmen. Say, hey, Carmen. Hi.
0:33.8	And someday future mother Eunice and myself.
0:38.3	So I had twins, I had them in my chief year of residency.
0:42.3	I was in surgery, had a neck surgery at UCLA.
0:46.3	I just want to tell you one of the top five programs in the country and they really kick your ass.
0:50.3	And doing those 10-hour operations where they transplant a flap of tissue from your femur and
0:57.1	your tibia all the way up into your jawline and big head and neck cancer surgeries it was a hard
1:02.5	hard year and it was hard to get pregnant Carmen was it hard for you to get pregnant oh my lord I
1:08.6	tried for I tried to get pregnant for seven years.
1:13.9	Dang, seven years. Yeah, I got married right after med school and we assumed we were going to get
1:18.7	pregnant super fast. Of course, my husband matched at UCSF and I was at UCLA. We drove like flew Southwest
1:25.7	every single weekend. So when we didn't get pregnant, those three years,
1:29.6	we assumed it was, you know, all the travel and all that. And maybe that was a good thing.
1:35.2	But then when we really wanted to get pregnant, it was so hard to get pregnant. Don't you think,
1:40.0	Eunice, that it's hard for women these days to get pregnant? Yeah, too much stress. I honestly think the
1:45.5	stress level that we inflict upon ourselves to have perfect lives and perfectly timed pregnancies is a lot
1:51.0	for women these days. Carmen, you have two daughters. I have three daughters. What are we going to
1:55.8	tell our daughters about this process of getting pregnant and how, I mean, so many times I laugh because my daughters are like, no, I'm doing it at this age.
2:05.3	And it's like, you can't even plan like that, girl.
