Summary

This episode is a tribute to our guest, the late Psalm Isadora, who tragically took her own life March 26th, 2017, a mere 45 days after the date of this recording.

Psalm was a teacher, author, and speaker who taught sexual healing through workshops, videos, documentaries, and training.

This show, as well as the majority of her life's work, was based on recovering from trauma and shame through the exploration and expression of our sexuality.

During the interview she spoke candidly about her own childhood sexual abuse, and her lifelong struggles with depression, as well as with drugs and alcohol. These are issues with which I have had so much personal experience, that this discussion has had a lasting impact on me since the time of the recording.

Looking back now, just over a month after her passing it's more clear to me now than ever how important it is for us as a culture to embrace and openly discuss our common issues with shame and sexuality, and to support one another in overcoming the sense of isolation that so often accompanies these common aspects of human life. Through courageously exploring our inner demons, and seeking to better understand ourselves and those around us, we stand a much better chance of overcoming the trauma and shame that is holding so many of us back from living a life of harmony, happiness, fulfillment, and lasting intimacy with our chosen partners.

This was the crux of Psalms' message. May this episode serve as a continuation of her life's work, and an inspiration to the thousands of fans and students she left behind.

With deep reverence, I offer my prayers and blessings to Psalm, and her friends and family. May god rest her soul.

I have to say that in the 62 episodes that I've recorded of this show in the past nine,

0:51.7

10 months, whatever it's been, this has absolutely been the most difficult intro, the most difficult outro, the most difficult show to actually produce

1:00.0

and release due to the fact that our guest, unfortunately, passed away in the time since the recording

1:06.1

and the date of this planned release. And our guest's name is Salm Isidora. I recorded this episode

1:12.6

in Venice, California at her home on February 10, 2017. And sadly, Salm took her own life,

1:20.7

March 26, 2017, a mere 45 days after this recording. And so, as you can imagine, I've been conflicted as to how to handle

1:30.5

this with grace, dignity, respect. I thought about perhaps not putting the episode out. I talked to a few

1:38.1

people that I respect about their opinions on it. And there were some strong points for the idea of

1:44.1

releasing the episode. And not so some strong points for the idea of releasing the episode

1:44.8

and not so many, but a couple things to consider in terms of perhaps not putting it out. And in the

1:51.3

end, I really just had to go to my own intuition, my own prayer life, and really just look inside

1:58.0

and determine what I feel would have been Psalms' wishes in terms of putting out the interview that we did,

2:04.6

both in audio and video.

2:06.6

And the resounding feeling that I've continued to get is that she wanted to do the show.

2:12.6

And she had a lot of beautiful things to say, and it was an an amazing interview and she was so full of life.

2:19.1

She was so actually so happy and had so much good information and good energy and love and was
