We were able to get Daniel Velegas a not guilty verdict in El Paso in a trial which was amazing to sit in that courtroom and to see the way a judge

will handle the way defense and state put a case on and contrast Judge Medrano with Judge Burnett, the judge I had in my case.

I had an alarming moment one time during deliberations.

At one point I'm standing by the exit door and I noticed the bailiff come out of the courtroom and he's walking straight towards me with purpose.

But I'm thinking he's headed towards the exit door behind me. So I kind of stepped to the side out of his way and he changes directions coming still straight towards me and instantly my fight or flight instincts kicked in and I wanted to turn and run. I was like, oh, it's coming for me.

What is gonna happen? But I stilled myself and stayed there and he walked right up to me and said,

Mr. Bollin. I said, yes, sir. He says, the judge would like to like see in his chambers follow me and he

about face and I followed him and when I walked into the judge's chambers there was

Judge Medrano he had removed his robes because it's deliberations and everything and he just

grabbed my hand he said on behalf of the justice system here in Texas I just want to

say I'm glad that you're a free person now and I just want to say that what happened to you I want to make sure never

happens to someone in my courtroom.
