Hello and welcome back to Cult Leader. I'm your Cult Leader Spencer Henry and I have been inside for what feels like 1 million years.

I hope you guys aren't losing your mind yet. I was talking to one of my podcast friends via Instagram DMs the other day.

We were talking about something crazy is going to come out of this quarantine as far as true crime goes because there's a lot of people locked up in quarantine together right now for weeks on ends.

I can only imagine the future Cult Leader episode coming out of this. I also got a DM after last week's episode from a listener who was like,

I just followed you on Instagram and this is the first time I've ever seen what you look like and you picture not how I expected you to look.

It's always funny to me when I get messages or comments like that because me personally whenever I read a book or I listen to a podcast or the radio and someone's talking,

I have this innate need to know what they look like. I'm immediately googling it but it's funny when you're spot on but it's even funnier when you're so far off opposite of what you thought.

But loving seeing you guys, a lot of you guys have been posting what you're doing while you're listening so keep tagging, keep posting.

I love it and let's get to it because I got nothing else to tell you other than one of the weirdest fucking stories ever.

Talk about career criminals, Frank Delano, he has a rap sheet among rap sheets and you're probably going to say what the fuck,

at least once out loud during this episode because it is absurd. We're going to start at the beginning.

He was born on June 17th, 1943 in Burnsville, Georgia. He was the baby of the family with four older siblings all born to Thomas and Della Floyd.

I love the name Della, how the fuck right that down, we love the name Della. But just after his first birthday his father unfortunately passed away.

It was a shock to Della who now had the responsibility of racing five kids on her own. His father's death was related to his severe alcoholism,

which is a serious disease people that ultimately led to kidney and liver failure. And though she tried her best to make things work as a single mom,

Della eventually was forced to forfeit the children when she couldn't make ends meet and it's honestly it's just sad.

And so here we are. The year is 1946. The children Frank included are put into a foster care program at the Georgia Baptist Children's home.

And life was tough. During this time there Frank was often bullied for being to quote unquote girly and suffered a lot of sexual abuse allegedly getting

sodomized by a broomstick when he was just six years old. And like where the fuck were the adults in all this? I mean they actually were not that much better either.

The adults were actually some of the worst abusers in the home. On one occasion Frank was caught masturbating by a staff member and he got into huge trouble. Like mind you, he was like a teenager at this point.

He was forced to dip his hands into boiling water as a result, which was a cruel and unusual punishment for something that every teenager does. Well, maybe not everyone.
