Summary

Tom and I delve into new research on The Halo Effect, how the generations have approached nutrition, how this feeds into how we feed our kids, how I have approached feeding my daughter, and how to positively influence change in someone else's diet or lifestyle, such as your kids, friends, family or partner.

WARNING - This show opens with references to 'Erections', and before you think WTF, we did a quick research review of erectile function and plant based diets.

Hey everyone, Ben Kummer Radio. How on earth are you doing? Well, I'll start off this podcast

0:06.9

by saying erections only because that is one of today's podcast topics. We have been

0:13.2

wading our way through some recent research reviews. Tom is with me today. Hello, Tom.

0:19.2

Hello, Ben. How's your erection? Don't even answer. Let me move on.

0:24.4

I mean, right now, like, so we have been wading our way through some recent

0:36.8

research and one of those research articles was about plant-based diets and male erectile

0:43.0

function. We're also going to look at CBD and back pain today, fasting and gut health, yoga

and mitochondrial health and the halo effect and how that looks at basically our food environment,

1:32.5

followed them over time or anything like that. Basically, they took a bunch of healthy men,

1:37.1

asked them to fill out a question there about how their erections are doing and also what they

1:42.4

ate on a food frequency question there. So there's wasn't people who self-identified as

1:46.7

following a plant-based or vegan diet, or as it was, they asked with a food frequency question.

1:52.0

Now, what that is for those who don't know is basically a big-ass question there where it says,

1:57.1

how many times in the last insert amount of time here, it might be the last month, last week,

2:02.5

last year, last decade, doesn't matter. How often would you eat red meat? How often would you

2:08.6

eat broccoli? How often would you drink milk? These kinds of questions. It's a fairly rough
