Summary

In Oprah Winfrey’s words, Danielle LaPorte “is uniquely connecting the world together with a spiritual energy that matters,” and here at Almost 30, we couldn’t agree more.  We’re so grateful to welcome Danielle back on the show. In this episode, Krista + Danielle, talk about the true meaning of spirituality and concepts of her recently published book, How to Be Loving…when your heart is breaking open and the world is waking up.  Danielle believes that we should focus less on fixing ourselves because when we focus on living from our heart center, anything that’s not in alignment with that Light falls away. Get ready for a nuanced perspective on the life changing power of self compassion, shadow work and being more receptive to higher guidance. We also talk about: Unwounded parts of self Taking breaks in life  Having spiritual seasons Striving for success + self acceptance  The universe + selfishness  Desire + aversion  Living from your heart  Manifesting with intention Defining the law of attraction Resources:  Website: daniellelaporte.com Instagram: @daniellelaporte Twitter: @daniellelaporte Book: How To Be Loving Sponsors: Babbel | Get 55% off your Babbel subscription at babbel.com/ALMOST30. We've been saying that for two years. Yeah, it changes. I just do what I wanted to be. People have been asking me my age lately and I'm lying. Isn't that crazy? Oh, that's crazy.

0:57.0

I'm like, I think I'm that bad. And I'm just like, whoa. But I'm not taking it too seriously. Just a lie that I'm telling.

1:07.0

I'm going back that later. I feel like in this day and age our age is actually cut like young. I don't. I don't feel anything. I just.

1:17.0

That's my business, not your business totally. I don't want you to know my business of my age. Yeah, I guess it's young. Yeah, we're very young.

1:25.0

Young, it's rightly. Yeah, one more 50. We're going to be like, yo, never.

1:29.0

Oh, 35. I'm 35. Krista's 20 28.

1:34.0

But I do think about when I was in my early 20s, I'm like, I was a child. I think about the fact that I thought that I would get married to 26.

1:43.0

And I'm like, you're a child bride. You were a child bride. 100%. But that's what our parents did. Our parents. No shade. If you got married to the love of your life when you were 26.

1:53.0

Peace and blessings. I was not mature enough to have done that. Oh, no. And I wasn't like who I was attracted to was not made material. Yeah, that's a good point.

2:03.0

You know, it was very good point. It was like a match for where I was at. So if you did find your match at that age, I'm actually impressed with where you were at.

2:11.0

I think to what that age, I was looking for more of the spark. I appreciate the men that I was with. But yeah, I was very much looking for the spark in chemistry and number one over anything.

2:21.0

Do you feel like it was co-dependent spark of like what's the word trauma bonding? I've been thinking about that. And we talked a little bit about this yesterday.

2:28.0

But I've been thinking about the trauma bonding spark. And I'm like, you know, the trauma bonding spark is also very important to because for me, the trauma bonding spark has provided really important,

2:37.0

important, Carmichael lessons, yes, and information and things that I needed to go through for sure. So if I was aware enough, I could have maybe seen that and been like, I see a trauma spark.

2:49.0

And then done my own work or searching, but I'm really grateful for that magnetism of that because it really brought me through some things that I really needed that relationship to co-create to see within myself for sure. I mean, it's essential. I think a lot of us shame our early relationships.

3:05.0

Like, oh, God, that was such a dumpster fire. And it's like, that was exactly what we needed to experience the contrast that we needed to experience in order to know ourselves better and also know what we really deserve.

3:18.0

And yeah, up level in that way.

3:20.0
