started to let you know that since there's no new episode this week, we'll be taking a dive

into an old one from my YouTube channel archive. The murder of Karen Buckley was one that shocked our whole nation.

She was just like any other young woman her age, a university student on a night out at a local

club who went home with a man and was never seen again.

Karen's case is one I come back to a lot because she really could be any of us.

I don't know about you, but case has always hit me so much harder when I can relate to the victim.

And Karen was the kind of girl I'm sure I would have been friends with if I'd met her.

So I hope you enjoy this blast from the past and we'll be back again with a new case for you next time.

Today we're going to be doing another case from Scotland which I don't think I've done a Scottish case in a long time.

But this case is really unique in the way that it did happen in Scotland, however the victim herself was Irish.

So that's a whole two nations that were affected by this incident.

Well, the whole of the UK was affected by it.

But before we get into the case, I just want to give my usual disclaimer that I mean absolutely no disrespect to anyone that I talk about in this video. So like I said, today we're going to be talking about a relatively recent case from Scotland.

However, the victim herself was from Ireland, so we'll start over there.

Karen Buckley was born in 1991. She was the first child to John and Marion Buckley,

later having three younger brothers, making Karen the first of four siblings.

She was born and raised in an area named Maughan Abbey in County Cork in South West Island,

and this area was very small, very rural,

it was a farming community. It's one of those places where everyone knows everyone. All the kids play together,
