On April 20, 2018, 7-year-old Ethan Hauschultz was killed by the 14-year-old Damian Hauschultz, the stepson of his legal guardian and great-uncle, Timothy Hauschultz, in Manitowac County, Wisconsin.

This case prompted 'Ethan's Law' to be drafted in Wisconsin.

Also covered is Connecticut's 'Ethan's Law', named in honor of accidental shooting victim 15-year-old Ethan Song.
