Welcome to the Game Change Your Life. I'm Dave Anderson in our Agora Hills, California studio.

And the topic I want to share with you today is toughen up and tune up accountability. We've got to

toughen it up, whether you're raising kids, whether you're a peer on a team and you're tired

of someone else not doing their job well and making yours more difficult and you want to have

a conversation with your teammate or whether you're leading a team. I just think accountability is so essential

to protecting culture, to protecting an employee or teammates experience, the customer experience,

results, certainly, your brand. And we've got to be more aware of it, especially as the world is seemingly

drifting in another direction with less accountability. We've seen it happen for many decades.

We need to toughen it up. We need to tune up on it. I want to share some basics with you.

You may be in a leadership position right now, and if this is the case, you are not

alone, but no one ever taught you how to hold people accountable. They give you a management

title, and they expect these skills to come to you in a dream one night. That was me when I was

promoted. I sold a lot of stuff. I didn't know how to manage anybody, but all of a sudden I had the title.

And boy, was I making a mess of things until I started developing these skills.

And this is one of the key skill sets that actually helps people grow, keeps them focus, creates urgency, builds rhythms of results rather than erratic results. So don't have time to talk about

it at great length. I mean, this is something we talk about for two days in my training center.

We have a two-day Master of the Art of Accountability Workshop that's we've been doing for a number
