Proverbs chapter 10 verse 5.

He who gathers in summer is a prudent sun, but he who sleeps and harvest is a son who brings shame.

It's a pretty simple proverb when you think about it.

If you sleep in the middle of harvest time

as a son, you bring shame to the father.

You do not honor the father. You do not honor the father to stay inside sleeping all day when it's harvest time outside

outside.

You go.

So a simple proverb that I want to apply to what Jesus said in Matthew Chapter 9 v. 37 and 38. He said to his disciples, the harvest is plentiful.

The Bible just finished saying that Jesus was looking out at all the multitudes around them,

how they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd. He's looking at people who are separated from the

father by their sin in need of grace and love and redemption and Jesus turns through his disciples and he says there's a plentiful harvest and he goes on to say the

problem is not there's not a great harvest The problem is the workers are few. In other words, the people

who should be working in the harvest are asleep in the house. So he says, ask the Lord of the Harvest to send out more workers into the harvest field. See it. And we see the same thing in John 4. we could talk about that, but the reality is in the world today,

the harvest is plentiful. There are so many people who are waiting to hear the gospel.

Over 2 billion of them who have little to know knowledge of the gospel.
