This is Jennifer Gonzalez welcoming you to episode 60 of the Cult of Pedagogy

0:04.7

Podcast. In this episode I'm going to share my picks for six Ed Tech tools you

0:09.9

should try in 2017.

0:23.9

For the past two years I have written and published something I call the

0:27.6

Teachers Guide to Tech. I think of it like an Ed Tech encyclopedia, a catalog of

0:32.7

tools designed to help take the overwhelm out of technology. All the tools are

0:38.0

grouped into categories so the assessment tools are all together, the flipped

0:42.7

learning tools are all together and so on. For every tool that I feature I give

0:48.0

you a screenshot of the tool in action. I link you right to the tools website. I

0:53.9

give you a complete description in plain English and I link you directly to a

0:59.3

video that demonstrates how the tool works and because the whole thing is

1:04.4

packaged up in one single interactive PDF you can click from section to

1:08.8

section at lightning speed. It's something you can keep on your work

1:12.3

computer, your home computer and even on all your devices so you can look

1:16.2

things up quickly no matter where you are. To keep the guide fresh every year I

1:20.9

go in and update it. I add some new tools that have come along I omit tools

1:25.4

that have faded away and I make sure that all the links and information are

1:29.0

still accurate. It is a crap ton of work. I'll tell you that right now but the

1:34.9

end result is pretty phenomenal and now my 2017 guide is ready. It's fully

1:41.1

redesigned this year to make it even easier to use and I have added over 30 new

1:46.1

tools and a few new categories like math, special ed, content libraries,

1:51.0

makerspaces and comic strip creators. I think you're absolutely going to love it.
