I'm gonna talk about the early signs of ovarian cancer. Now what's unique about the ovarian cancer

0:06.0

is this. It's one of the most lethal types of cancer that involves female reproductive organs.

0:13.2

Over 300,000 women get this cancer every single year in the US and 200,000 of them don't make it.

0:21.5

So early detection or even prevention is the key. But before I get into it, I really need to tell

0:27.5

you something. And this involves the decision of whether or not to get chemotherapy.

0:34.0

Now just realize I'm not telling you to do one way or the other, I just want to give you the

0:38.6

data. And there's some important data that you need to have to make the best decision,

0:43.8

and unfortunately it's very difficult to get. And I'm gonna put this study down below,

0:48.7

but you need to check this out. Now this study was done at the Department of Radiation on

0:52.8

Ecology at Northern Sydney Cancer Center. And it was actually published in a journal called

1:01.0

Clinical Oncology. And they were looking at the actual impact of chemo on survival rates within

1:09.2

five years. Now it's interesting to me that they everything related to cancer is like kind of five

1:15.7

year survival rate. If you make it to that point, you're considered a success. And this relates

1:23.1

to American adults that get cancer. This is what they found. The people that opt for chemo only have

1:29.4

a 2.1% increase in survival compared to people who don't opt for chemo. And I know you're saying it's

1:39.6

well, it's an improvement. It's 2.1%. But in actuality, that is a very, very small improvement.

1:46.0

However, when you look at the data that extends beyond five years, things are completely different.

1:54.1

Okay, let me explain. Dr. Hardin Jones, Professor of Medical Physics and Physiology at Berkeley,

2:01.3

California, looked at data way past this five year survival rate. He looked at 25 years. He

2:10.5

wondered, understand what happens with people that get chemo and people that don't get chemo

2:15.8

over a 25 year span. And this is what he found. People who refuse chemo actually lived 12.5 years

2:26.8

longer than people that did get chemo. That's incredible data. But this is my this claim. I'm
