Pennsylvania has its fair share of some of the most frightening, mysterious and downright

bizarre murder cases, and in the Keystone State resided one of the most infamous killers

to ever roam its territory.

However, his exploits weren't known right away, as it was only later on when the public

learned about the brutal killings he committed back in the 1970s.

In Aliquipa, a city in Beaver County, Pennsylvania is where Edward Sarat, aka the shotgun killer

was born and raised.

Edward was a highly decorated veteran who served in the army as well as the Marines back

in the 1970s.

He took part in more than ten military operations, which ended up earning him both the gallantry

cross metal and a purple heart.

After incurring several injuries on the battlefield, he was then shipped back to the States where

he returned to his hometown and started working as a truck driver.

This job had him traveling between Pennsylvania and Ohio, but his life was never the same

after the war, as Sarat began to exhibit anti-social behavior and showed clear signs of PTSD.
