Summary

I believe that daily actions cultivate our mindset and, in turn, our mindset determines much about our lives; not only external things like success and fulfillment, but also how we handle adversity, mental/physical health, and more.

Today's episode was part of the Chase Jarvis RAW series on YouTube where I share a number of things I do first thing in the morning that have a tremendously positive impact on my day. My goal isn’t to be prescriptive in this list, rather my aim is to tell you what I’VE come to know helps me crush…and be a better person. Do I miss some of these things every day? Absolutely. I’m so far from perfect with this stuff, it’s laughable, but the fact remains that I put a lot of effort into kicking off my day with these few things.

Good morning everybody.

Actually I don't have any idea if it's morning for you or not.

Today is an awesome day and I'll tell you why because it's one of my favorite things to talk about.

And that is how I treat my mornings every morning.

One night every morning.

I do my damnedest though to do these six things every morning.

Okay, the first thing I do, and it's hard to say if this is morning routine thing, but

I'm going to throw it in there as number one, and that's sleep.

All right, I went for 10 years with an average of five to six hours of sleep.

I felt like it was genetic and I felt like I had a ton of energy until something happened.

And that thing that happened was I was totally crushed about two years ago.

I'd been burning into both ends, working 20 hours a day,

not getting any sleep. I went to Hawaii and I said, you know what, I'm just going to,

I'm going to have zero schedule on vacation. I slept 14 hours a day for like six days

straight and I felt completely different than I had for the previous like six, eight weeks

that I'd been burning at both ends. Now, a year ago I started tracking my sleep and I aim to stay in bed

for eight hours a day I can tell you that I am definitively way smarter way

nicer more in touch with my creative side way more in touch with my intellect and, way more in touch with my intellect, and I'm

just a better human when I have more sleep.
