The Supreme Court has decided that Donald Trump is entitled to some immunity for official actions he took as president and may be able

to avoid being criminally prosecuted in the federal election subversion case against him.

So what now?

Well, the trial judge overseeing the case will likely preside over

more hearings and see more written arguments and proceedings with witness

testimony and debates take place before deciding whether Trump acted in his capacity as president

to reverse the 2020 election results. This could mean more appeals against her

preliminary decisions, creating a bigger delay, which is why it may be unlikely for Trump to go to trial this year if at all

prosecutors are also trying to figure out what the court's ruling means for January 6th

defendants. Last week's go disIS limited the Justice Department's ability to pursue obstruction charges

against some of those cases.

And that decision could reshape the criminal case against the former president in Georgia, related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

Trump's lawyer argued that Trump's state charges should be dismissed on immunity grounds.

The Anti-Defamation League and a law firm had filed a lawsuit in U.S. Federal Court.

The victims and their families are accusing Iran, Syria and North Korea of providing support

could not have carried out the October 7th attacks which killed more than 1,200 people
