This afternoon, the Justice Department announced federal charges against one person in a thwarted Iranian plot to kill President-elect Donald Trump before the election.

Prosecutors allege he was also involved in planning a mass shooting targeting Israeli tourists

in Sri Lanka.

Now, what we know is this.

On October 7th, Shikeri says that he was tasked with trying to find ways to kill Donald Trump.

You remember earlier in the summer, there was a plot of Pakistani man who was sent here to try to recruit people to try to kill Donald Trump.

That was something that the FBI exposed over the summer.

The Iranians have been doing some of this for a number of years.

There's a number of people from the Trump administration that have been under protection from the Secret Service because of threats to their lives. We also know that over the summer they believe that

there was a number of people in this administration also who were on the targeted list for the

Iranians. President Joe Biden's administration has lifted a de facto ban on American military contractors

deploying to Ukraine, according to an official with direct knowledge of the plan.

The official said contractors will help the country's military maintain and repair U.S.

provided weapons, particularly F-16 fighter jets and Patriot Air Defense systems.
