Cody Thompson. How's it going Pat? Just fine it's good to be here. This is a show where

we explore anything and everything having to do with teamwork, leadership, culture,

and other topics related to the world of work.

And we've got a fun topic today, Cody.

Yeah, two of our favorite things, all smashed into one. Meetings and movies.

That's right. I love talking about this. This goes back to my book, Death By Meeting,

which was originally supposed to be titled The Meeting that didn't suck a fable, but we're

weren't sure we could have the word suck on a book, but we can say it on a podcast.

We can say it now.

Right.

But the truth is, in one sense, meetings and movies

should have a lot in common.

And they do.

And we're going to talk about that in just a second but here's

the deal when it comes to meetings being bad and most meetings are they don't have to be

but they are there's two real reasons for that one is that they're

boring two is that they're ineffective today we're

gonna take on that first topic why medians are boring and why they shouldn't be and

and in the context of this the movies that are boring share the same symptoms.
