I love making cookies and drinking hot cocoa and wrapping presents and decorating.

It's my favorite.

And I love playing in the snow. You want to know something awesome about being a squirrel?

What's that, Momo?

I don't have to wear any jackets or gloves or hats or boots when I go outside in the snow.

I can just jump in and out of my house any anytime I want. Ooh, that would be fun.

Yeah, I wish I could get everyone a fur coat like me.

I think you all would make great squirrels.

I'm not sure about how I feel about being a squirrel.

I guess it would be fun to jump around the branches though.

Today's story is about another animal that lives in a tree, but he doesn't have fur like a squirrel.

He has feathers.

And this feathery friend ended up having a bit of a problem.

It was Christmas time.

The snow was falling, the wind was blowing, the icicles were forming, but inside a cozy little house, the old cat Mortimer was very warm.

Mortimer loved Christmas time because every year, when his family hung the stockings above the fireplace,

they always remembered to hang a little stocking just for him.

They would fill his stocking with special kitty treats and toys.

He gazed up at his little red stocking above the fireplace.
