A deal to release some of the hostages held by Hamas could be close, as Israel faces pressure

to provide proof that Gaza's largest hospital housed a terrorist

command center.

A CNN team was taken by the Israeli military this weekend to visit what it says is a recently

exposed tunnel shaft near the Al-Shifa hospital complex.

CNN's Orn Lieberman, who was on that team, says Israel is trying to show that the tunnel legitimizes

their recent bombardment of the hospital because the Israeli military

claims was used by Hamas. This is something Hamas and hospital officials have

repeatedly denied. But what we saw both in the video and with our own eyes, is arguably the most compelling

evidence so far that there is clearly something down there, a tunnel at least one, and

Israel's credibility, the IDF's credibility, and the ability of the IDF

to continue prosecuting this war, all of that's at stake as international criticism is

mounting of the campaign in Gaza.

Meanwhile details have emerged of a recent draft deal to secure the initial release of 50

hostages held by Hamas.
