Former President Donald Trump has been talking about his economic agenda and claims Americans would be better off

financially if they elect him for another term.

As a speech in North Carolina yesterday, he committed to cutting US energy prices by 50% within 18 months of being in

office and revealed his plans for Obamacare. I'm going to keep the

Affordable Care Act unless we can do something much better.

We'll keep it.

It stinks, it's not good.

If we could do something better, we're going to do something with it.

Trump didn't offer many specific examples of policies that would achieve his claim of helping Americans though and instead

veered on to other topics while attacking his opponents.

Vice President Carmelah Harris is expected to lay out her economy plans tomorrow, and she's expected to call

for a federal ban on price hiking to lower grocery prices as part of efforts to tackle inflation.

She could preview that today when she's joined by her boss

President Joe Biden for a campaign rally in Maryland as they take the stage

together for the first time since he announced he was dropping out of the race.

Talks for a ceasefire and hostage release deal are set to get underway today.

CNN's Nada Bishir has been following this.

Nada would have been the stumbling blocks and how likely is it that a deal will

actually be reached from these talks. Well Joe US officials tell CNN it's

unlikely a deal will actually be signed today while While the broader framework appears to have been

agreed upon, there are still significant gaps on several key sticking points.
