Congress is barreling towards a government shutdown. After the House voted against a funding proposal last night that was backed by President-elect Donald Trump.

The deadline to keep the funding coming is midnight tonight, and Republicans are scrambling to come up with a solution.

The Trump-endorsed plan was opposed by almost all Democrats, who were frustrated and angry

after the president-elect tanked an earlier bipartisan deal at the last minute.

And a lot of them also blame Elon Musk's influence for the first deal being scrapped.

The Musk Johnson proposal is not serious.

Everybody agreed, and then it was blown up by Elon Musk,

who apparently has become the fourth branch of government.

President Musk said, don't do it.

Shut the government down.

Vice President-elect J.D. Vance says if the government runs out of funding, it will be on the Democrats.

But 38 Republicans voted against the deal too.

Sources say the bill would have funded the government for three more months and given roughly $110 billion
