September 28th. Well the second 2024 Republican presidential primary debate appeared

to end just as it began, with former

President Donald Trump as the party's dominant frontrunner, and he wasn't even there.

Seven GOP candidates took to the stage in California last night for the debates hosted by Fox Business Network and Univision with some memorable moments like this comment from former South Carolina Governor Nicky Haley talking to Vivek Ramaswami.

I honestly every time I hear you I feel a little bit dumber for what you say.

Candidates criticized Trump's absence with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis describing him as

missing in action and talking down his lead in the polls.

Polls don't elect presidents, voters elect presidents.

Most candidates also took early shots at President Joe Biden, especially over immigration and problems at the southern

border. Take a listen to how former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Ramaswami, and former Vice President

Mike Pence said they'd tackle those issues.

We want you here in this country to fill the six million vacant jobs we have, but only if you come

here to follow the law and only if you come here legally. Militarize the southern border, stop funding sanctuary cities,

and end foreign aid to Mexico and Central America

to end the incentives to come across.

We have to secure the southern border of the United States of America.

Instead of taking part in the debate, Trump held a speech in Detroit's. It's the first hearing for the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden today.

The House Oversight Committee will focus on the constitutional and legal issues Republicans have

raised about Biden, and the hearing will include

testimony from various witnesses.
