With the five things you need to know for Tuesday, April 23rd.

Columbia University is facing a seventh day of tense pro-Palestinian protests,

and solidarity demonstrations are being held around the country,

including at NYU and Yale, where dozens of students have been arrested.

Yesterday, faculty at Columbia staged a walkout to support the more than 100 students who were arrested and suspended last week.

But Columbia's president is also facing immense pressure from alumni and lawmakers to rein in the protests.

Some are even claiming that the university is breaking discrimination laws by not taking

more action against protesters.

Many Jewish students have reported feeling unsafe

and being attacked, while others support the protests.

I consider myself a very brave person,

but I won't deny that I've been physically intimidated and harassed.

So I'm Jewish. A lot of the focus has been on like you know supporting Jewish

students who have been facing anti-Semitism, but there has not been a lot of focus on

Palestinian students who have been feeling anti-Islamic sentiments.
