is to pass the torch to a new generation.

The speech from the Oval Office

was his first substantial address since he announced he was ending his re-election campaign on Sunday,

and endorsed Vice President Carmelah Harris to replace him in the race.

This marks the beginning of the final chapter of his presidency, which will end when the next leader takes over in January.

It's been the privilege of my life to serve this nation for over 50 years.
