legacy of Harvey Milk the first openly gay politician in California and a leader of

the American Civil Rights Movement.

Time magazine included Harvey Milk on a list entitled The 100 Most Important People of

the 20th Century.

That's right, the 1900s, kids.

Milk was not only an advocate for the LGBT

community but for all minorities he believed in safe strong

neighborhoods and supported public education, affordable child care and

equal rights for all today would have been his birthday.

I guess he would have been 94. He died though at I think at 48 years old in 1978, 1930 to 1978.

San Francisco's board a supervisor and 11 months later he was murdered by another city supervisor.

I was going to say I thought he was killed.

Yeah.

Sean Penn played him in the movie Milk. But you know this is that's the thing about

where we're at today. It's a product for better or for worse. It's a product of all the people who've come before

us and fought the fights and shaped the world.
