Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the

0:04.6

word, prayers, in our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me,

0:09.1

which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. Hey, hey, so this is our last G-themed week

0:15.0

in December on the Five-Word Prayers Daily. We've covered a lot of ground, I think, with talking about grieving and glorifying, and now this week we're going to dive into what else giving.

0:24.6

We can't do shows in December without a week dedicated to the idea of giving, can we?

0:28.6

It would just be wrong.

The reality is, giving is a huge part of what happens this month, and of course on December 25th, but I want to talk about some other aspects of it and maybe have it

0:38.4

0:59.3

giver. In fact, it's natural for me to give gifts to people. It's something I really love to do.

1:03.9

1:09.9

1:12.3

the smallest silver thread that went through it in almost like a stripe pattern, this beautiful

1:17.6

dress. I love so much. I gave it to my friend Shelley because she wanted it. I have given my

1:23.7

favorite necklace to the woman at the gynecologist office when she commented that she liked it

1:27.8

and my favorite leather green jacket to a ministry friend and not even two months ago I gave my

1:33.5

favorite noonday earrings to a housekeeper at a hotel we were staying in when God prompted me to

1:37.8

after she said she liked them as I just walked down the hall. Now I don't always give things away,

1:43.0

trust me. Sometimes I ignore God when he tells me to give

1:45.5

something. Sometimes I don't even listen at all. Sometimes I hold things so tightly no one could possibly pry it out

1:50.6

of my hands. So I am no saint, trust me. But I think what God's been showing me about giving is this.
