Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five day a week daily devotional where we share the

word, prayers in our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me,

which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. I love the week up ahead because if you know me,

you know I am a huge home body. I love my home. I love being home. In fact, I have to really be careful

so I don't just stay in my house all the time and never get out. Introvert problems. I think that's

one of the reasons why my husband is great for me. He loves to get out and he isn't a homebody

at all and he's helped me with this a lot. But my home is very important to me. And honestly, for years,

it was mainly about how beautiful I could make it and how much I could get it to the place

where I could get maximum enjoyment out of it for myself, if I'm being honest. I still love to

surround myself with things I love and bring me joy. But I've learned, especially in the last

few years, that God has a bigger

plan for me with my home than just that. Same for you. Stay with me, I'll explain.

I grew up in a pastor's family, and we were always surrounded by the church and lots of church

people, and those were the days that big church and lots of church people. And those

were the days that big church pastors didn't have 100 support staff people to help them

counsel people, meet with leadership teams, all the things that goes with that. Pastors really did

it all back then. I know some smaller church pastors may be listening right now and you get it because

you still do it all. And man, my heart,

my prayers are with you because it's a lot. But my father, a bigger than life extrovert from the

stage, you would think he was an extrovert. He really at the core was an introvert who needed time

alone. So after being with people all the time, he really didn't want people in our house.

So as a result, we didn't often have people over.
