I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

If you're just joining us today, you're joining in the middle of what we're calling our Second Chances Redemption Week,

and today I'm excited to talk about making the most of a second chance, really grabbing

onto that rare opportunity we have in life for maybe not an exact do-over.

Sometimes we have that happen, but a second chance to do better or improve on something.

When in that situation is in front of us, how do we make the most of it?

Let's get into it right after this.

You know, I've talked to a lot of grandparents who've expressed to me first how crazy

they are about their grandkids, of course, obviously, but also about how having grandkids in some way

feels like a second chance, not at parenting because most of the time grandparents don't

actually raise their grandkids, although a big shout out to those listening who do and who are

because you are warriors and may God bless you for what you're doing.

But they feel like grandparents, again, feel like in some ways the way their life is now at a bit

of a slower pace and just where they are in life generally and even in their role, they're

able to be to their grandkids in some ways what they weren't to their kids. Maybe as a dad, they were

gone a lot working and now as a grandfather who's retired or semi-retired, they have more time

to throw the ball with their grandchild, whatever the case may be. It's not a second chance at

parenthood, of course, but it feels in some way like redemption. I think all of us can

relate to that feeling, at least in some way, where we have had something we're finally able to

make right or make better and how good that feels. But most of us also know that second chances
