Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the

word, prayers, and our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me,

which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. Well, happy Monday, and we're starting off

this week and this month, really, with a guest, which we don't normally do. But this guest is no normal guest because she's my

dear friend and also a woman who knows her stuff when it comes to what we're going to study this

month. I thought it might be cool to go through a book of the Bible, abbreviated of course,

five-word prayers daily style, because we can't nearly go through the whole thing. But my friend

Sharon Miller has written a study

on the book of Philippians, and that's the book I want to cover this month in this month of joy.

Well, that's what I'm calling it. I have to tell you, sometimes August isn't that joyful for me.

It's so incredibly hot. The kids are going back to school. Summer is ending, and there's always so much to get done.

And so I felt like I needed to study joy myself. And what better way than to take the four

weeks in August, looking at the four chapters in Philippians, and highlighting some of the key

aspects to each chapter and digging in there this month. You up for it? We can't go wrong

looking into the Bible like this together.

I'm excited about it, and I hope despite your crazy in August, you'll join me all month to find
