Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, and our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

Well, we're going to talk about something, or rather someone on here today we haven't talked about yet, and he's not going to like it.

I could care less what he thinks

because greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world. Yeah, we're going to talk about

Satan, the evil one who is out to take us down. And the only reason I'm giving him any airtime

is to expose some of his gameplay because I want us to be wise to his tactics and be open about the fact that he wants

us to die too, and it's talking about living and dying weak, but in a different way,

he wants to destroy our soul. So let's expose some of his MOs and talk about that for just a few

minutes.

Satan is not a huge topic for a lot of us. I'm pretty sure it's not a super popular podcast topic because who wants to really talk about him? I really don't want to either,

to be honest, but I think we need to because he's a very real part of our lives in an

oppositional way. And as we're trying to live our lives for Jesus, we need to because he's a very real part of our lives in an oppositional way. And as we're trying

to live our lives for Jesus, we need to be aware of what opposes us. I often go through my day

without even thinking about this honestly. And then often at the end of the day on self-reflection,

I look back and feel kind of foolish for how I haven't given it more of a thought. I haven't

prayed enough for God to help me in fighting this very real foe of Satan because he's real and

against you and me and we need to be aware of the ways he wants to bring us down so we can pray

against it and stay awake and alert and aware. The first part of that verse

in 1 Peter 5.8 says this. In fact, be sober, be diligent. That's clear-minded. We have to know and think

straight to face this lion wanting to kill us. I mean, that's the way it's described in the Bible. He's described as a

lion. We wouldn't dare go into a lion's cage, a real lion's cage, and fall asleep. I mean,
