| 0:00.0 | Hi, and welcome to Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the word, |
| 0:06.5 | prayers, and our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, |
| 0:11.4 | which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. Jesus is so many things to us, isn't he? |
| 0:17.8 | Redeemer, Savior, confidant, best friend. Sometimes because he's such a personal God, |
| 0:24.4 | I think we forget that personal doesn't mean casual. This God that we love and is so personal and |
| 0:30.6 | near is a God to be worshipped and respected and he's earned a title that no one else has or will ever or should ever be given. |
| 0:39.6 | It's a special one for sure, and that's what our conversation is going to center on today. |
| 1:01.1 | As I was writing the book Five Word Prayers, I was thinking about the different prayer offerings I wanted to personally make to God and also obviously universally, since the books I write |

| 1:25.1 | them master. I can assure you of that. But even in talking about |
| 1:29.4 | this today, I'm challenged by the idea that I don't always call other things my master, |
| 1:35.2 | yet I treat them as my master as I let them dictate and tell me what to do and I let them |
| 1:41.6 | run my life in some different areas. And that is just as displeasing to God |
| 1:46.9 | as if I were to physically bow down to them and call them my master. It's tough for me to wrap my |
| 1:54.6 | mind around this, but I know it's true. God doesn't want to be one of my masters, not a master, but my one and only master, |
| 2:04.2 | the master of my life. It's the same for you. He wants our full attention, and not because he's a |
| 2:10.1 | needy God, but because he loves us with a fierce love, and him being our master rules our lives to order and peace and vibrancy. |
| 2:20.8 | It's just the way he set it up because it's the way he knew it would work. |
| 2:24.8 | When Jesus washes the feet of his disciples in John 13, he basically says to them this, |
