First and foremost, the big beautiful bill staves off what Republicans have warned would be the

biggest tax hike in American history by preserving the tax cuts that President Trump ushered

in during his first term.

And then on top of that, there are two new provisions that were key to President Trump's campaign

promises that he made on the campaign trail.

Those, of course, are no taxes on tips and no taxes on overtime.

This bill makes taxes on tips deductible up to $25,000, and on overtime, deductible up to

$500 for individuals and twice that for couples.

Democrats say that's not good enough and that Medicaid changes will strip away health care and food assistance.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries calling the bill immoral as he spoke against it for nearly nine hours, setting a new House record.
