Summary

5 Minutes Of Fire is back!

In today’s culture we often worry about celebrities more than we do ourselves. We’re influenced by the opinions of those around us, and many people never audit themselves to figure out if they’re aligned with their own authentic self. We put on masks to get the approval of others. This is especially prominent in American culture.

This week Andrew talks about taking a step back & only worrying about 1 person’s opinion… YOURSELF. Rather than earning the approval of others, take a look in the mirror & figure out how to be authentically YOU!

Thank you. What is up, guys, and welcome back to the Ace Weekly podcast. My name is Andrew Evans,

0:34.7

and this is Five Minutes of Fire. We are back here for another episode. And today I want to talk to you guys about the only opinion that actually matters, and that is your

0:38.8

own. It's the only one that actually matters, the voice inside your head and inside of your heart,

0:45.5

that is what you listen to, not the feedback from your friends, not your grandparents, not your

0:50.7

parents, not your siblings, not your business owners, not your coworkers,

0:55.1

not your college professors. Your voice inside your heart, inside your mind, is the one that

1:01.5

matters ultimately the most. A lot of you all know I've been living in Mexico and in another country

1:06.6

for maybe six months now. And it's been really cool for me to see the differences in culture here versus places

1:13.1

I've been to or places I've lived inside of the states.

1:16.1

And the biggest thing that I noticed that's different about the culture is that people

1:20.4

here don't spend a lot of time judging other people.

1:24.8

And when I say judging, I just mean like they don't spend a lot of energy.

1:27.8

They've got way more important problems in their mind, in their opinion, to worry about for

1:32.7

their own selves than they do to waste any time spending energy, worrying, or giving a shit

1:38.9

about what other people are wearing, what other people are saying, what other people did or didn't

1:43.7

do because it has no

1:45.7

relevance at all to their lives. And I really feel like that contrast with so much of the culture,

1:52.1

especially back in the USA and the states, you know, where we claim to be a very free and open

1:56.5

society, especially there's a lot of very liberal cities that claim to be accepting and tolerant,

2:01.4

whether you're, you know, tall, short, black, gay, straight, whatever it is, we'll accept
