Welcome to this week's episode of the Modern Mentor Podcast. I'm your host, Rachel Cook. Did you set goals in January that are feeling a little tone deaf in May? Let's talk about how you can renegotiate and rediscover

0:22.4

your inspiration and motivation to achieve big things this year. We don't typically talk about

0:28.6

setting goals in May, but there's nothing typical about this May. Many of you may have set

0:34.2

goals in January as part of your company's performance management process or

0:38.4

in your own personal goal setting process. But as the pandemic persists and realities and priorities

0:44.3

continue to change, many of you are questioning whether those business or personal goals still

1:46.3

measurable vehicles by which you strive toward the things that matter to you. If your purpose is to be

1:51.8

healthier, then your goals might be to exercise three times per week and eliminate fast food

1:57.0

from your diet. Health is the priority. It's the thing that matters, the outcome you hope for.

2:03.1

Goals are the enablers, and they are actions, not wishes. So start today by checking in with your

2:09.0

priorities. What seemed important in January may not resonate today. Maybe your team at work was

2:15.8

prioritizing customer growth and began building an exciting platform

2:19.5

to better engage your customers. Your goals likely would have aligned to that growth priority,
