Welcome back, everybody to The Incomparable.

I'm your host, Jason Snell.

This episode was not originally planned to happen, but sometimes a wonderful thing happens,

which is I watch something on television just for pleasure

and then discover that lots of people I know also watched it and liked it and found it very

interesting and they all want to talk about it.

That was especially fortuitous for this because it would be very hard to assign homework

for The Beatles Get Back on Disney Plus, approximately thousand hour long miniseries about the recording of Let It Be as it turned out to be.

Actually, how shall I put it?

A hairbrain scheme to get the Beatles back in the public eye that misfires completely and goes in several directions.

Ultimately leading to the recording of Let It Be is sort of how I would describe it.

Anyway, really interesting stuff available on Disney.

Plus, it's from Peter Jackson, who has not just done The Lord of the Rings and other movies like that,

but also some pretty great documentaries.

The They Shall Not Grow Old is a really amazing World War I documentary,

and he did this sifting through all the footage that they shot on 16 millimeter, not 35, no, no, no, 16 millimeter film in 1969, uh, early 1969. And we get to see all of it. Well, okay, some of it in the very long documentary. Here, to talk about the Beatles

get back. Not about, we can talk about Let It Be, too. It's an interesting album. Are the

finish this podcast in Libya. Oh, it's a great idea. We may have to boat people in,

but it's a world heritage site. It would be a great place to do a live podcast. Three days on a

boat with fans. It sounds great. What could be better? George Harrison will definitely do it.
