hear me reading out some pages from an old diary I wrote 25 years ago when I was 16 years old.

In the UK a diary can mean two things.

Either it's a plan like timetable or schedule for the future in which you

have to write appointments and stuff. Like for example you might say you know let me just

check my diary yes okay I'm free that day to

have coffee with you David Beckham for example if David Beckham has called you to ask

if he if you can have coffee together and you say let me just check my diary David let me see

my availability that's one meaning of it like a schedule but also a diary can be a sort of

notebook in which you write a record of things you've done and all your

thoughts and feelings every day.

So you know it's where you write all of your most personal and private things.
