Tutmo's the first had just returned from a highly successful campaign into Syria.

He and his comrades in arms had stood on the banks of the Euphrates River.

He had compelled the subjugation of towns and peoples throughout Canaan, and he had smashed an army

from a here to four unknown rival, the kingdom of Matani.

Now they returned in triumph, and the people of Thebes, perhaps all of Egypt, rejoiced for the army's safe return.

They carried plunder, and the coffers of the Royal Treasury

were filled neater bursting with so much wealth. The king was going to put that wealth to good

use in temples and in his tomb, but first he had some family business to attend to.

When the king returned home he was greeted by his family, his two wives, Amis and Moot-Nefret, and no less than five children.

This gaggle of kids included three boys and two girls,

and together they made Tutmos one happily secure ruler.

Tutmos was probably quite concerned with the health of these children.
