Imagine your going to collage to hopefully become a Lawyer and someone hands you a Backstage Pass to a Bob Dylan concert and your whole life changes.

That is exactly what happened to Jonathan Taplin. This man saw the legendary concert when Dylan went electric. He was the Tour Manager for The Band when they played Woodstock. He was on the Train for the Festival Express tour. The list goes on and on and now you can read all about his life in his new book The Magic Years.

All right welcome aboard. It's another Monday April 5th. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here for the ride. The sounds, the ear holes are tickling with some interview chat talk.

Out there trying to get funny working on this new material. It's hard to get a rhythm going on stage doing comedy because you know you get on a couple times and then you don't get on for four or five days.

Then you get on again and it's hard. It's hard that way. You got to do a lot of homework. You got to do your research on your recordings.

So it's having a kind of a kind of a little downer moment which I get into once in a while and I was standing in front of a coffee shop.

And some guy just walked up and he was like, oh man, Dindal Ray, I love your podcast. Big, big fan of the podcast. And immediately I was like, oh, I needed that.

And you know, I mean, it wasn't that he was like a fan of the podcast. It was just some kind words which is needed here and there. People need that. So, you know, if you have a friend or somebody you don't know, just be positive to them once in a while. Just some random kindness.

And it really, it really can make a difference. You don't know that guy might have been ready to jump off a cliff and then you said, hey, nice shoes or pants or whatever. I don't know.

You don't want to say nice pants. People might be like, what?

Oh, man, I got the cool guest today. I have got a great guest today. My guest today is Jonathan Tapplin. He is an author of a brand new book called The Magic Years.

He's a rock and roll. And I cannot tell you how much I love this book and I love talking to this man. He is like the cool uncle. Everybody wishes they had the guy that you see at Easter Sunday like yesterday.

Tell me about that time, Dylan went electric and he's like, get over here. We were smoking a little reefer and out of nowhere, you decided to plug in and we were losing our minds. You're like, no way.

This guy has all of the stories. I have coined him the forest gump of rock. Some people have said that I was the forest gump of rock and I have been in some cool places at some cool times.

But not like this guy. He was at Woodstock. He was at Monterey Pop. He was at the Fillmore when the doors played. He was at the Isle of White.

He produced Mean Streets and the Last Waltz. He was the tour manager on the festival Express Tour. It goes on and on and on.
