Mac Power Users Episode 583, the Obsidian Deep Dive.

Hello everyone, this is David Sparks. I am sitting here today joined by my fellow Mac Power

user, Mr. Steven Hackett. How are you today, Steven?

I'm good, David. How are you?

I am excellent and I'm looking forward to the show. You know, we do all kinds of different shows

on Mac Power users. Sometimes we take a wide topic and we go narrow and sometimes we take a

narrow topic and we go deep. Today we're going deep and it was all kind of triggered when you

started sending me screenshots of your obsidian install and I realized, uh, Steven is seeing the light.

We'll see if it goes that far. I am firmly in the experimental phase after hearing you and

other people talk about it. So I thought it was a good time to talk about it on the show. You know,

we've, we've danced around this for a while but there is this, this wealth of personal knowledge

management applications on the Mac and elsewhere. We had an episode a while back about notion and

and uh, Obsidian notion are very, very different but I think people sort of want them in the same

category as these really big, powerful apps that can really help you organize your thoughts and

keep track of a lot of little disparate bits of information. So yeah, I'm excited, uh, getting into

it too with you. Yeah. And I've been really kind of working on this for about a year now and

I have tried a lot of different apps. We're going to talk about some of those as part of the show,

the other apps I use and didn't stick with. But I've been riding the Obsidian horse pretty hard

now for a while. So I actually have a lot of opinions and thoughts and power user tips for the app.

So I thought that I have gone deep enough with this one that we could do a show like this. So

I'm really looking forward to it. It's really a new way of doing notes and I'd like to share the,
