Summary

At some point in your business journey, you will doubt yourself. I can think of multiple times when we doubted ourselves, and each time we had to overcome that doubt to move forward. You may doubt your product idea, your supplier, your strategy, and other aspects of your business. In this episode, we'll discuss some things that helped us overcome these hurdles of doubt and find success with our brand.

Your product sucks. I don't really understand when people launch crappy products that they know deep in their heart. Maybe they're in denial about it because they don't want to, you know, have to start over or fix it or they just want to get it out because they think it's magically going to make them a lot of money. But they release crap products that get bad reviews that don't sell and then

0:21.9

wonder why they're not selling. Fix the product. Make a better product.

Welcome back to Selling on Amazon with Andy Isom. In today's episode, we're going to talk about a

0:38.9

question that was asked by one of my coaching program students. If my first product is failing,

0:45.3

should I try to fix it or start over? This was a really good question that was asked because

0:51.1

in my coaching program, it's a six-month program. So if you work on your

0:54.6

business for six months, you get everything started, you got your product up and selling,

0:59.7

but you're not seeing the results that maybe you hoped for. When is it time to completely scratch

1:05.8

that idea, start over, or should you, you know, see it out and try to make that first product a success?

1:13.6

The most important thing that I can say to you is that you have to give your product the time

1:19.2

that it needs to be successful. I'm seeing people make way too many rash decisions, meaning

1:26.1

they're not giving their products the time they truly need

1:29.7

to be successful on Amazon.

1:32.4

Now, I like to tell people when I talk to them on discovery calls or on social media, this is not

1:37.9

a get-rich-quick scheme.

1:40.5

Honestly, nothing out there is a get-rich scheme, but Amazon especially or e-commerce,

1:46.1

I mean, selling your own products online, however you decide to do that, is not going to get you

1:52.4

rich quick.

1:53.6

Now, you can make really good money in a relatively short amount of time.

1:58.8

Like I would say one to two years is a short amount of time.

2:02.2

But do not, do not think that you are going to launch your product and in the first month,

2:08.7

in the first two months, and the first three months, you were going to magically sell 20, 30,
