And welcome to episode 58 of Geek's Guide to the Galaxy.

Our guest today is Anne Rice, author of the best-selling vampire chronicles,

which include Interview with the

vampire the vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned. She's also written novels

about other supernatural monsters such as witches and mummies. In 2005 she turned to

writing Christian fiction starting with her novel Christ the Lord out of Egypt.

In 2010 she announced that she was leaving Christianity. Her new

werewolf novel, The Wolf Gift, marks her return to supernatural horror.

Okay, so your new novel, The Wolf Gift is about Werewolves.

So first of all, just what made you want to write a book about Werewolves?

Actually, somebody suggested the idea to me, and it was at a very good time.

I was working on a novel about Atlantis, and it wasn't working. And I was very bogged down and I really wanted

something new to do and a friend of mine an email buddy Jeff Easton who's the

producer of the TV show White Collar.

He just happened to write me an email and say he'd seen a documentary on

wherewolf, legends, and fiction,
