In our perpetual effort to better understand surfboard design, its evolution, and how it will dictate tomorrow's surfing, I introduced to you Max Stewart of iCymmetry surfboards.

My introduction was through seeing clips of Hector Santa Maria doing corked out flips on waist

high waves in Puerto Rico.

Next I saw Tom Carroll writing the boards, although entirely different designs to what Hector

was writing, almost polar opposite designs actually.

So then I followed i symmetry on Instagram and I saw lots of beautiful boards and interesting designs,

but very little about Max himself. I could only find one interview that he's done online,

and he didn't even have an active website. Then a year or two later, an email came through from Max,

introducing himself, and I thought that it

would be a perfect opportunity to reply, to get to know him, and then also to share our conversation

with you. So that is what we're here to do today, but before we do, just a quick word from our

friends at the Surf Rider Foundation, Real Water Sports, and Veyor Watches.
