Good morning everybody. Yesterday, Monday, January 11th, I woke up to some awful news that

0:12.8

we had lost the great Jeff Scott, the comedy store original room piano player who had been

0:21.2

there 25 years and who I had worked with nightly for years. It's a giant, giant loss to the

0:35.3

comedy store community. We all love this man and the place will not be the same. That is for sure.

0:43.7

I interviewed Jeff seven and a half years ago and it was one of my favorite interviews because this

0:55.8

man really is the heart and soul and the pulse of the original room. This man sat behind the piano

1:04.8

every night watching people bomb, watching people kill, watching people's dreams come true,

1:10.9

watching people's dreams not come true. He saw it all and he was always festive, smiling. He had a

1:20.0

great laugh. He played the shit out of the piano and you could riff with him. He had some excellent

1:27.0

comedic chops back and forth. Many times we would be chopping it up. So I thought that I would

1:38.5

repost this interview and let you guys enjoy Jeff Scott and his story. He has a great, great

1:47.8

story. He was a winner. He moved to Los Angeles and became an entertainer for 25 years. He

2:03.3

entertained all the customers and all the comedians in that original room. I will miss you, Jeff,

2:11.4

Scott massively. Hey, what's happening? Welcome to another episode of Let There Be Talk. September

2:20.7

9th, it's Monday. Got a great episode here. You know, I always talk about the comedy store in

2:27.9

Hollywood and that's why I work pretty much every night. It's my favorite place on Earth. My guest

2:34.4

today has worked at the comedy store for 18 years. 18 years playing piano. His name's Jeff Scott.

2:44.1

He works in the original room. Five nights a week playing piano, bringing up every

2:49.7

comedian that's been passed and working in the original room for the last 18 years. Which is

2:56.3

amazing, man. I mean, you know, you'll hear a story. It starts out as a little part-time job. He

3:02.3

thinks and boom, he's been there 18 years. Jeff Scott, a hero of mine, a guy plays piano for a living.

3:08.9

That's a musician making money all his life playing piano. You're going to love this episode. They
