0:06.4	So I'm going to tell you two quick stories and see if this resonates with you about having FOMO or fear of missing out around other people's
0:16.4	social media success, or shall I say, perceived success.
0:21.6	I have a friend who sent me a message and said, you know, I'm really struggling stuff because I hear you about all this social media stuff. I'm sick of it. I don't enjoy being there. It doesn't
0:36.5	feel good to me anymore. However, don't you think that I need to wait until I have all the big following that you had and all the stuff
0:46.1	you had on social media before I get off of social. And it was like a dagger to my heart, you know, because what it proved to me, is that a word?
0:57.0	It showed me that I had perceived social media success or status by this elusive number of followers and this person
1:09.4	was deciding to be on this platform because of that perception.
1:14.0	And then the second thing that happened, someone else, a dear friend of mine,
1:18.0	we got together and we were kind of chatting about our businesses
1:22.0	and she said, am struggling so hard I
1:26.2	think I'm gonna up my social media game I think I'm gonna spend just like two or
1:31.1	three more hours a week just making content and I said why and she
1:35.8	told me that she had a client who had like a million followers had a huge
1:41.4	following on social media and she's like it just looks like
1:44.8	she's doing so well and I said have you ever asked her the amount of hours
1:50.4	how she feels when she's using it have you ever actually sat down and had a
1:55.0	conversation with her around if it's actually working to produce fruit in her
2:00.3	business and she said no and she's like but I can imagine it's not because I know that this
2:05.3	woman is struggling with mental health and seeing lots of therapists and all of those things.
2:10.0	And so then I said to both of them, why do you believe what you believe to be true?
2:17.4	And that caused me to write down three pages of notes that we're about to go into today
