| 0:00.0 | Welcome to another episode of the Secular Buddhism Podcast. This is episode |
| 0:05.7 | number 57. I am your host Noah Rasheda and today I'm talking about all |
| 0:11.4 | pervasive suffering. What is it and more importantly how do we identify it when |
| 0:17.3 | we're experiencing it? |
| 0:20.7 | It's a good reason why we talk about suffering so often in Buddhism. Suffering is |
| 0:35.5 | the central problem that Buddhism addresses. It's recognizing our suffering as the |

| 1:38.4 | and death. This is very easy to understand the suffering of suffering. The |
| 1:45.5 | second is the suffering of change or the suffering of loss. And this is how we |
| 1:50.5 | feel when we don't get what we want or we do get what we want, but we can't hold |
| 1:55.0 | on to it. Right, like youth, the aging can can fit into this. If things aren't |
| 2:01.9 | going the way that we want them to or losing a job, you know, change itself, I |
| 2:08.5 | think fits nicely into the second category, the suffering of change. But the |
