Well, welcome to the cart fishing podcast, episode 57, and this episode is a slightly unusual one because

we are just on our way back from belgium and we're recording it in the van you are yeah as we're

driving yeah as we're driving just left the venue um caught it just right because it's just

started to rain now so we managed to get all the stuff packed up and in the van and we're dry and yeah we're on the way back and we're on

the back of a five-dayer I think it is yeah something that five-dayer on the bank and

we are feeling a little bit weathered we are tired mate we are tired, yeah. It's been a lot of activity in terms of walking, looking, venues.

We fished a number of places, haven't we?

Yeah, yeah.

Over the last week, or five days, six days.

It's different, mate.

It's really different.

I think, you know, we'd never been to Belgium before,

and I'm sure many listeners that listen to our podcast have been, but it's just surprisingly close, Mark, isn't it?

It takes us longer to get to home from Dover than it does to get from Calais.

Dover back to the Cotswolds, yeah, exactly.

So you can see why Belgium over the years has become so popular.

Yeah.

It's literally a stone, and I mean, some people even in the UK are traveling longer for their UK fishing than they would do drive from Calais around Belgium.

Crazy. Yeah, absolutely.

Yeah, so, mate, it's been an interesting week, hasn't it? I mean, anyone that knows Belgium will know what I'm about to say,

but you've got big industrial canals, which I still used,

very much in use with shipping freight,
