Welcome back. It's been strange being away for so long and I'm very excited to be here as we start the third, admittedly, rather shorter season of the Queens of England podcast.

Now, I've learned over the last two and a bit years doing this show to never make bold predictions about episode length.

I've lost count the number of queens have required one or even two extra episodes than I originally planned,

as I found more and more that was worth talking about. There's no timetable as such for the rest of the

show, but broadly speaking, I reckon we have enough to last us at least a couple of months,

and then I'll probably do some final episodes at the end for us all to take stock, taking us to

the end of the year.

While I was away, my talk on The Tudor Summit went live, and I want to thank all of you who watched

and said such nice things. I hope that I've attracted a few new listeners, but mostly I'm happy

that I've broken a few tired stereotypes about the six wives. Heather has announced that she'll
